The Village Co. Supporting Pregnant Women and New Mothers
The Village Co. is a not for profit organisation aimed at providing support for pregnant women and new mothers in need:
At The Village Co., our hearts break for women in need. We want all women who are pregnant or have recently had a baby to experience dignity, care and generosity. Some South Australian women find themselves in situations where they do not have this essential support.
The founders, Steph and Nicole have identified at-risk groups of women including refugees, teenage mothers and those suffering due to domestic violence, homelessness, mental health issues and drug use.
Without support, these women may struggle, lose confidence and be at greater risk of mental health issues. The aim of Village Co. is to provide a gift of essential and practical items that will make them feel appreciated and loved whilst also addressing their basic needs and those of their newborn.
Steph & Nicole’s dream is to to see South Australian women from all backgrounds embraced in kindness and supported as they begin their motherhood journey, thus encouraging them to be the best mothers they can be. They believe all women deserve to have personal items that provide them with dignity.
They think this is such a fantastic way to support new mothers in need and to show that you care. The organistion is strictly not for profit – 100% of your donation will go directly to mothers in need.

Hi, l don’t have much money but my heart has always been with mothers and new babies, babies having babies.
I would love to get involved in any way. I have a very positive outlook in life and feel that’s what a lot of these young women need, a supportive network.
I am a knitter and crocheter and l love making babies things like booties, hats, blankets, toys. Please let me know what l can make and how l can help. I have been working in aged care for the last 14 years, l am 56 years old.
