Play as much as you can this June & July with the Touched by Olivia (TBO) Playathon.
Make a difference to Aussie kids who don’t get to play. The TBO Playathon inspires everyone to take the play challenge throughout the months of June and July and increase the amount of time they are committing to free, fun play.
By becoming a TBO Play Champion you will awaken a love of free play time again, and also remind everyone of the importance of play, playtime and playspaces for all Aussie kids. Too many Aussie kids aren’t playing and missing out on the fun and benefits of play. No time, no safe and fun places to play, no friends to play with.
When you take the Play Challenge you’re helping to get more kids playing, playing with others and playing in local communities while raising funds for the playmakers at Touched by Olivia to create inclusive playspaces where everyone feels safe, welcome and that they belong and we can all play together.
Why Free Play?
Research has shown that free play is essential for children’s development, sparking creativity, improving social skills, and enhancing problem-solving abilities. The TBO Playathon is designed to provide the motivation and inspiration to give children the time, space, and permission to simply play. Your home, street, local play, and recreation spaces are where children can explore, imagine, and create their own adventures.
How to get involved:
Take the Play Challenge – Spend 30 hours over 30 days playing – free, fun, play.
The rules are simple. Play whatever you like, as much as you can, with whoever you want to. There is only one catch – it’s Playtime UNPLUGGED! Get off the screens, get up, get creative and get out and play.
You can also join as a family, daycare or school team.
Start FUNdraising.
Ask your family, friends and neighbors to sponsor you to Play.
Play it Forward
Complete and log 30 hours of play and raise money to help Touched by Olivia continue to champion Inclusive Play and create playspaces where everyone can play together.
Registration:
To say thank you, TBO will be offering children who register a FREE Playathon water bottle. By using their water bottle, they will help raise awareness and be proud that they are helping more kids to play.
