Victoria Park Fitness Trails – Sweat Course | Adelaide Park Lands

Victoria Park Fitness Trails

Victoria Park Fitness Trails

Along the Park Lands Trail in the north west area of Victoria Park, a short stroll from Hutt Street, is a linear fitness trail numbered from 1 to 8 incorporating multiple exercise elements.  From sit ups to hurdles, the ‘Sweat Course’ has permanent outdoor fixtures suitable for a range of abilities and ages.  The serious and not so serious can have a go, making it a fun activity for families to do together.

Victoria Park Fitness Trails

No 1 & 8:  Running  |  There is LOADS of room to run around out here either on the grass, along the paved footpath or along the dirt tracks.

Victoria Park Fitness Trails

No 2:  Step Ups  |  There are two different height steps with the higher step much more challenging.

No 3: Bar Dips  |  These are a little high for young children, but where there’s a will, there’s a way..

No 4: Sit Ups  |  An easy one for everyone – a simple stretch to touch your toes.

Victoria Park Fitness Trails

No 5:  Pull Ups  |  There are two different height bars for pull ups or ‘chin ups’ – very challenging!

Victoria Park Fitness Trails

No 6:  Log Lifts  |  A little heavy for young ones as the idea is to raise the log above your head, but as with all of these activities they can be adjusted to suit the individual.

Victoria Park Fitness Trails

No 7:  Hurdles  |  This one was by far the favourite activity with races back and forth over the little jumps.

Victoria Park Loop

You can also explore the Victoria Park Loop – a 2.5km gravel track the entire way around Victoria Park.  It’s a great place for walking, jogging or riding a bike (read our learning to ride a bike post here) and with a few repetitions at each of the fitness stations you are sure to get the heart pumping.  This area is also dog friendly so you will see lots of dogs off leash playing in the open space.

Hutt Street is just around the corner where you can find an assortment of cafes and restaurants for a well earned coffee or ice cream before heading home. See our review of Ballaboosta cafe.
