FruChocs Pinata Mud Cake Hack | Simple Recipe

FruChocs Pinata Mud Cake Hack

Our 6 yr old Play & Go cake tester made this FruChocs Pinata Mud Cake Hack and it was delicious!

This easy cake hack turns two supermarket mud cakes into something special for the FruChocs lover in your life, perfect for celebrating World Chocolate Day, a last minute birthday cake or a sweet dessert to celebrate a special occasion.

Most major supermarkets stock off the shelf mud cakes along with the other items you will need.

Recipe:

  • 1 x bag of FruChocs
  • 2 x mud cakes (from Foodland/Woolworths/Coles)
  • 1 x tub of pre-made icing
  • 50g orange sprinkles

You will also need a cake stand or tray to prepare and present your creation.

Method:

Take both mud cakes and slice the top off them to create a flat surface.

Using a glass, cookie cutter or knife, punch a hole in one of the cakes. Discard (or eat!) the circle of cake from the hole.

Use the same technique to cut a hole in the other cake, but reserve the circle of cake.

Place the two cakes on top of each other and fill the hole in the centre with the FruChocs and half the sprinkles.

Replace the circle of cake back on top of the hole, covering the FruChocs and sprinkles and creating a solid cake top for you to ice.

Use a spoon or butter knife to spread the icing around the cake. Be gentle as the cakes are quite delicate, but don’t worry about any crumbs that get incorporated into the icing!

Sprinkle the final sprinkles over the top of the cake before serving. Enjoy!
