Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea | Cancer Council | 24 May 2018

Cancer Council SA is encouraging South Australians to host a morning tea and support those affected by cancer.

For 25 years, Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea has brought together millions of Australians over a cup of tea in support of those affected by cancer.

In 2018, the official day to host a morning tea is Thursday 24 May, however anyone can host at any time in May or June.

Cancer Council SA Chief Executive Lincoln Size says the simple act of having a morning tea with friends makes a huge difference.

By hosting or attending an Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, participants will help Cancer Council SA continue our life-saving cancer research, prevention, advocacy and support programs.”

This year is particularly special as Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea celebrates its 25th anniversary. With one Australian diagnosed with cancer approximately every 5 minutes, the length of an average tea break, there is no better time to have a cuppa for a cause and host an event in 2018,” he said.

Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is the largest and most successful event of its kind in Australia. Last year alone, the simple act of South Australians hosting a morning tea raised $1.1 million locally and contributed to $11.9 million raised nationally.

Those who want to host can register at the Biggest Morning Tea website HERE or call 1300 65 65 85 to receive a free morning tea host kit.
