Pirates to invade Port Adelaide

Pirates are invited from near and far, young and old, scurvy and scarred to invade Port Adelaide in celebration of International Talk Like a Pirate Day. The Pirates of Port Adelaide – 19 to 20 September 2015 – aims to capture the imagination of all ages and invites all South Aussies to get involved in the ocean of possibilities for fun in Port Adelaide.


X marks the spot! Take your crew on a family friendly adventure. Heave ho and walk, ride or run around the historic Port for a chance to win your share of the pirate bounty in the Treasure Chest of prizes!



Enjoy the Wild at Hart Markets; Port Mall Kids Dress Up Competition and Pirate Disco; FREE Pirate bouncy castle; FREE face-painting; FREE air-brush pirate tattoos; Pirate food stalls, music and buskers; market stalls; visit the pirate ships as they sail in to Lighthouse Square; EFM ‘race for the treasure’ boot camp; and for the big kids an adult scoundrels after-dark treasure hunt, plus lots more Pirate Shenanigans!

BEWARE – a fleet of invading Pirates are due to enter the harbour at 10am on Saturday 19 September – don’t miss it! Lots of fun on-water displays throughout the weekend, including a “Pirate Battle” at 12.30pm Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting), thanks to the Cruising Yacht Club of SA, the Royal Yacht Squadron, Garden Island and Port Adelaide Sailing Clubs. The Pirate Flotilla will also be departing at 3pm on Sunday – it will be a fantastic display of 15 – 20 Pirate decorated boats entering and exiting the Port River with lots of Pirates on board!
