Play & Go Review | Mirror Mirror

Mirror Mirror is a spectacular immersive digital playground. Itโ€™s unlike any experience we currently have in Adelaide (or Australia in fact). The only thing which we can relate it to is TeamLab, if youโ€™ve been lucky enough to experience it in Japan. This is like a pop-up version of the mega digital installations there, and the quality and creativity is on par.

Our big tip is to take your time in each room – look out for instructions and key points; scan QR codes to interact and you will get the whole picture, and things will make more sense. Thereโ€™s no rush. If you are not sure what to do in each room, look out for the helpful team members who can help guide you.

In the Forest of Echoes, look out for the marked spots (big eyes) on the floor to stand on. At those points, look around and you will see yourself in the mirrors in all directions. With the laser lights flashing all around you, and in your eyes, in this otherwise dark space, be aware of the columns of mirrors that are placed all over the room. Be mindful that kids could easily get lost if they run around or could collide straight into a mirror.

The River of Now is probably the most fun for kids. Itโ€™s an interactive digital river that flows with colour and cute images. Like a video game, step on the large pebbles, and other moving objects like a smiling mouth or a flower to make them change colour.

Make sure you look out for QR Codes located in the Memory Storage room and Open Window. Follow the instructions to see your words appear around you. Let AI create your own personal poem reflecting your memories and words.

Mirror Mirror is a high level sensory experience. Itโ€™s loud at times, and there are laser and strobe lights in many areas plus vibey background music, so bear in mind this may not be suitable if you or your children are sensitive to this type of sensory overload.

Children four years old and under have free entry – however, a $0 ticket is required to be booked for entry.

We applaud the brilliant minds of the Moment Factory team who have created a unique modern art experience. This creation is world class and we are so lucky to have the opportunity to be the first ones to see it in Australia.
