Camp KickStart – Summer Clothing Donations Needed for Kids in Need.
South Australian not-for-profit organisation KickStart for Kids (KSFK) is calling on donations of summer clothing for their upcoming Camp KickStart December/January School Holiday Program.
Christmas is almost here, and while it is an exciting time for many, it is often difficult for vulnerable and disadvantaged children to see the joy in the festive season like their peers do. This is why Camp KickStart is so important as their team of dedicated volunteers provide children aged 5-13 with the opportunity to have fun in the holidays. Activities can include arts and crafts, cooking classes, excursions, celebrity visitors and so much more as well as transport to and from home.
The children attending Camp KickStart are in need of NEW summer clothing, bathers and shoes. These can be purchased for as little as $3 from Kmart, BigW and Target.
The items and sizes needed are outlined below:
- Girls T-shirts – Size 8, 10, 12, 14
- Boys T-shirts – Size 8, 10, 12, 14, 16
- Girls Shorts and Leggings – Size 8, 10, 12, 14
- Boys Shorts and Bathers – Size 8, 10, 12, 14, 16
- Girls Dresses – Size 6, 8, 10, 12, 14
- Girls and Boys Underwear – Size 6-8, 8-10, 10-12, 12-14, 14-16
- Girls and Boys Socks – Size 9-12, 13-3, 3-8
- Girls and boys Shoes (including thongs) – Size 8, 9, 10, 11
Every school holidays over 300 kids attend the camps across five South Australian locations. They provide kids with transport to and from home and excursions with food, books, clothes and fun things to do as well as partnering them with a mentor for extra support and self-esteem building.
Where To Donate
Items can be donated to the KickStart for Kids headquarters – 87 James Melrose Road, Novar Gardens.
Alternatively, an online donation can be made via their website.
