A giant, nine-metre-tall yellow swing has landed in the heart of Adelaide for a limited time this October.
This playful installation, designed for adults and the young-at-heart, invites you to escape the office and break free from the everyday. Feel like a kid again as you’re propelled through the air, offering a fresh view of the city and a blissful sense of freedom.
Art and playfulness are not just fun—they’re great for your mental health! Swing into a positive mindset and reconnect with your inner child, or just be a spectator at this seriously playful public art event. Whimsical theatre performers guide and support every SWING.
SWING on Fridays:
Fridays are a little extra at SWING, with delights for all the senses on Friday 11 October and 18 October 2024. Local live band Bromham will perform both Fridays from 5pm to 7pm, bringing their brand of wholesome, joyous folk fun. Indie-folk band Sturt Ave will support them on 11 October 2024, and indie band St Jacques will join on 18 October 2024, curating a lineup of musical talent that creates the perfect soundtrack to end your working week.
Food trucks will be serving from 4pm to 9pm, featuring Taco Cartel, Van Dough, Two Fat Blokes Pizza, and the Thai Guy.
Everyone (over 18) who has a SWING has the chance to go into the Lucky Draw to win 1 of 5 Central Market Vouchers valued at $100. Pick up an entry card after your swing, scan the QR code to enter your details to go into the draw. Entries close Wednesday 23 October 2024 at 7pm ACDT. - Minimum height requirement is 120cm
- Not for children under 9 years old
SWING TIMES:
- between 11:30am – 2:30pm and 4pm – 7pm every day except Sundays
Unique sessions for wheelchair users:
Saturday 12 October and Wednesday 16 October 2024 between 4pm – 7pm. These sessions are available for both manual and electric wheelchairs. Please book your spot online here.
