Waterworld 2020 Season
Waterworld is opening to the public under COVID-safe guidelines. Waterworld features heated pools, a curly slide, two racing slides, 50m lap pool and learners pool. Toddlers and preschoolers can also enjoy the crazy fun of the splash pad.
Waterworld is a premier outdoor swimming centre at the corner of Jack High Lane and Golden Grove Road, Ridgehaven in Adelaide’s north-east. There are shaded areas, a café and free barbecue facilities. The centre is wheelchair friendly and has picnic tables, toilets, showers and lockers.
This new season will look a little different with capacity limits and daily closure sessions for cleaning to protect the health and safety of the community.
The facility and programs will be opening in a staged approach:
- Monday 12 October, learn to swim and aqua-fitness classes will commence
- Monday 19 October, Department of Education swimming lessons commence
- From Saturday 31 October, Waterworld is open for member, pensioner and casual visits. Birthday parties commence
To visit Waterworld as a casual patron from 31 October, you will need to book in-advance online. The booking system will be available from mid-October.
When booking online, there will be set ‘session times’ to choose from. This is due to Waterworld needing to be closed for short periods during the day for cleaning.
You can become a Waterworld member for priority access from 31 October. Online bookings not required.
Aged and veteran pensioners can visit Waterworld for free swimming at certain times from 31 October. Free swimming times for pensioners are 6-9am Monday to Friday and 7-9am Saturdays. Pensioners will need to leave Waterworld by 9am for centre cleaning and Saturday morning program commencement. Pensioners do not need to book their morning free swimming visits in advance.
