Your Guide to Adelaide’s Best Markets

Adelaide’s markets are a great way to spend a day out, with everything from vintage fashion and pre-loved finds to fresh produce, artisan wares and family-friendly fun.

Review by Carla Caruso

One of my teenage sons has recently taken up selling Y2K fashion as a side hustle. Yes, the era takes me straight back to my clubbing days! Who knew it would ever be back in vogue?

His newfound hobby has seen us exploring Adelaide’s markets and uncovering all sorts of treasures. So, we’ve done the hard work for you!

Here are some of the best markets to explore around Adelaide.

Gilles at the Grounds

Old Brick Dairy, Adelaide Showground, South Boulevard, Wayville

One of those quirky Adelaide things – Gilles Street Market has kept its original street name, even after moving to a new location.

Launched in 2008 at Gilles Street Primary School, it relocated to the Old Brick Dairy at the Adelaide Showground a decade later, becoming Gilles at the Grounds.

Held monthly, the market features emerging designers, vintage and pre-loved fashion, crafts, collectibles, food and live music across indoor and outdoor spaces.

A favourite haunt for Adelaide’s young, hip crowd, it’s dog-friendly, too. Be prepared to queue for the food trucks on busy days!

Fullarton Market

Fullarton Park Community Centre, 411 Fullarton Road, Fullarton

Celebrating 22 years in 2026, Fullarton Market is a feel-good, community-focused market with a family-friendly buzz.

Taking place monthly across the grounds of Fullarton Park Community Centre, it brings together more than 100 stallholders selling fresh produce, plants, homemade treats, jewellery, arts and crafts.

Grab a bite to eat, browse the stalls and soak up the relaxed atmosphere, with occasional live entertainment adding to the fun. Dogs are welcome, and there’s even a playground for the kids.

Sunday Funday Markets at Tonsley

6 MAB Eastern Promenade, Tonsley

The Tonsley Innovation District isn’t just a great place for youngsters to scoot around on the weekend or to stage wheely good kids’ parties (see what I did there?) – it’s also home to Sunday Funday Markets, dubbed “Adelaide’s favourite undercover family markets”.

Set inside the iconic MAB Building, the market brings together more than 130 local businesses, from artisan makers to gourmet food vendors, alongside live entertainment and family-friendly activities.

With natural skylights, striking industrial architecture and lush landscaped gardens within the venue, it’s a lovely spot to shop local, grab lunch with the fam or discover something new. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, and there’s plenty of free parking, too.
