The June long weekend provides the perfect opportunity to schedule a catch up with friends or family, go for a ride or bushwalk, explore our wonderful state and enjoy some fun as a family. There are also some great events happening across the long weekend including the Cabaret Festival, Thunderbirds Netball Game and a Family Day at Woodstock Wine.

In the City
Wonders is a free exhibition bringing the stories of 165 incredible objects to life from across the Museum’s collection of more than 4 million objects to commemorate the South Australian Museum’s 165th birthday in June 2021.
Experience what life was like for prisoners behind bars in this historic complex of buildings that once housed some of the state’s most notorious and dangerous criminals.
TreeClimb is our inner city aerial adventure park, located in the Adelaide city parklands on the corner of Greenhill Road and Unley Road. Fun for the whole family.
A great place to explore with kids. Try leaf racing in the Mediterranean Garden, visit the historic palm house, jump across stones at first creek wetlands and enjoy a peaceful picnic under the trees.
Perfect for a family picnic. Kids will love clambering over the roots of the old Morton Bay Figs.

Bushwalking and hiking
Go for a family bushwalk or hike. There are so many places in and around Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills where you can enjoy some relaxing time with the family in nature.
Take a picnic, admire the views and find a new section of garden to explore.

Visit The Port
Australia’s largest undercover railway museum, which houses over 100 exhibits within two huge pavilions. Plus train rides included with admission.
Climb aboard a replica ketch and discover life on board ships of the past.
Head down south to the Fleurieu for the day and visit some of our coastal towns such as Victor Harbor, Goolwa, Port Elliot, Normanville or Willunga. Visit a cellar door in McLaren Vale or stop in Strathalbyn.
The Cockle Train will be running on Sunday 13 June between Goolwa and Victor Harbor.
