Kids Go Free to Adelaide Zoo in August
Gather your cubs, the Adelaide Zoo has got a GIANT gift for you this August!
August is panda party month at Adelaide Zoo and to celebrate the birthdays of beloved Giant Pandas, Yi Lan and Xing Qiu, kids aged 14 and under can visit FREE throughout all of August!*
Join the Zoo for a fun family day out and celebrate their birthdays – Yi Lan turns five on 10 August, while Xing Qiu celebrates his sixth birthday on 29 September.
Keep an eye out for birthday-themed enrichment, special keeper talks and plenty of opportunities to watch the pair enjoying their favourite treats throughout the month.
August highlights:
- Kids aged 0-14 go FREE all month

Wild Explore VR Experience
Step into a whole new world with the Wild Explore VR Experience, now open in the Panda Shop.
Travel beyond the zoo and come face-to-face with incredible wildlife through an immersive virtual reality adventure. It’s an exciting experience for all kinds of explorers and the perfect addition to your zoo visit. Drop into the Panda Shop to book your VR Experience on the day of your visit.

The month-long birthday celebrations will finish with the Adelaide Zoo’s annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic on Sunday 30 August, featuring Giant Panda enrichment, keeper talks, free face painting, craft activities and more.

You can enter Adelaide Zoo any time from 9.30am on the day of your visit and remember kids 3 and under always receive free entry (under 4s require a free of charge ‘Cub’ ticket).
*Terms, conditions and limits apply. Free child tickets only valid between 1–31 August 2026. Free child tickets are valid for children aged 4–14 inclusive. Limit of three free child tickets per adult. No free tickets for school and OSHC groups, events, experiences or Monarto Safari Park entry.
