Outdoor Play Spaces with Basketball Hoops

Outdoor Play Spaces with Basketball Hoops around Adelaide
Find a local basketball hoop for free outdoor play
Anyone can play basketball and there are outdoor courts and hoops in every council area around Adelaide. Completely free to access, just take along your basketball and the kids can practice their handles and free throws! You’ll usually find the basketball hoops on tennis courts and next to skate parks, but more and more councils are starting to install 3×3 courts and court surfaces designed for ball sports. There will often be a netball ring nearby too.
For those new to the sport, there are outdoor basketballs and indoor basketballs, so be sure to grab an outdoor ball if heading to the park. Outdoor balls are made with recreational players in mind, are more durable and stand up to the harsh outdoor environment and surfaces such as concrete and asphalt.
Most outdoor courts are open to the public at all times, but some are licensed to schools and sporting clubs. So if it’s empty – start playing! If a school or person who has paid to book a court arrives, finish up your game and move on to another park to keep playing.
